  Figure 1: The exemplar apron anchors the ramp with its L-shaped
  edge straddling the beam in the trailer floor. The two carriage bolts,
  on the other side of the I-beam provide added security from slippage.

          Figure 3:  A view of the incident walk ramp and apron. The apron was
          welded by an inexperienced welder.  It broke causing bodily injury
          to our client.

        Figure 4: A close-up of the incident apron showing discoloration at the
        fracture face and bright face of the last metal to fracture. 
        The discoloration indicates that the failure
        occurred gradually.  Note that the bolts holding the hooks are inserted
        into holes not in the original sheet metal perforations.  An extra hole
        is seen between the two holes that hold the support bolts.
